Earlier this year, the government decided that the ‘one size fits all approach’ to rest and meal breaks was unduly restrictive and did not reflect the realities of the modern workplace, which requires flexibility.

Government proceeded to change the law to empower employees and employers to agree on how and when the employee can take their rest and meal breaks in order to best fit the business needs.
