CERA releases programme of work for Christchurch rebuild

Following requests from the construction sector for greater transparency, the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority and MBIE  have released the schedule for public sector organisations’ rebuild intentions in Christchurch.

The Programme of Work contains information about the major public sector construction projects in Canterbury, and details information from the following lead agencies: Canterbury District Health Board, CERA, the Christchurch City Council, Housing New Zealand, Lincoln University, Lyttelton Port Company, Ministries of Education and Justice, NZTA, SCIRT, Selwyn District Council, University of Canterbury, and Waimakariri District Council.

The programme includes information about the estimated value of works, and provides the public sector organisations’ rebuild intentions through to 2021. Some of the projects due to start within the next six months include:

  • Performing Arts precinct
  • Reinstatement of Sumner/Lyttelton road corridor
  • Town Hall
  • University of Canterbury – Science and Information Centre (phase 1)
